Comic Relief is here once again and as we all put on those Red Noses, we take a look at some of the best antics people are up to this year in the name of charity.
This year Comic Relief has launched the ‘Make your face funny for money’ campaign, which may just seem like an excuse for everyone to get their faces painted, but either way if you’re raising money for charity then what’s the harm? Comic Relief have already highlighted some great examples of celebrities taking part in the campaign, it seems its not all just about painting your face, so we have a look at some of the best ideas so far.
Go for the bearded look
Improve your look with a beard beanie, there are already some great websites selling these, and there are even some for babies and children, so no doubt we will be seeing a few of these crop up on Red Nose Day.
If you don’t fancy wearing a hat, Superpunch have released a load of free printable masks inclucing a downloadable Twitter beard complete with blue bird! There is also a whole host of other characters and celebrity masks that are all free to download via the website.
Go for the classic painted face!
Comic Relief have put together a starter pack to help everyone gather some ideas on how to decorate their face on Red Nose Day. This compiles everything from Adam Ant and Kiss makeup, to furry chins and marvellous masks. There is even a section on how to paint your face to match the 9 Red Nose characters that are featured this year. These include; Snorbit, Count Dracula and the Snotty Professor.
You could do this in a number of ways, if you’re a student and are on a tight budget how about rolling back the years and going for a paper plate mask? If you are looking for something you don’t have to hold with a lollipop stick you could always go for the classic glasses, nose and moustache combination. MyCakies even sell straw toppers with funny faces on top if you fancy going wild.
Whatever you do this Red Nose Day, there are so many possibilities, the important thing to remember is the cause, and even something as small as buying a nose from the supermarket can help.
A little bit about the cause… from Comic Relief
Comic Relief is a major charity based in the UK, with a vision of a just world, free from poverty. We work tirelessly all year round to help make our vision a reality. And in the years since we started out in 1985, with the support of some remarkable people, we’ve achieved amazing things and raised over £950 million. Our mission is to drive positive change through the power of entertainment. Since we first set up shop in 1985, we’ve been doing three main things…
- We raise millions of pounds, mainly through our two big fundraising campaigns: Red Nose Day and Sport Relief.
- We spend the money raised to tackle the root causes of poverty and social injustice in the UK and across the world.
- We use the power and influence of our brand to raise awareness of issues where we feel we can make the biggest impact.
